Description

The 1984 Donruss Champions set featured Dick Perez artwork of ten "Grand Champions" alongside modern stars pursuing their records. This 60-card series holds a unique place amongst its 1980s Donruss contemporaries. Presented is a collection of ten "Grand Champion" #37 Walter Johnson cards each signed by a different member of the 3,000 strikeout club. Also included is a signed example of #55 Carl Hubbell (who is not a member of the 3,000 strikeout club) and an additional unsigned copy of #37 with "Strike Outs 3000" added on the front. This collection consists of cards signed by the following eleven players: Blyleven, Carlton, Clemens, Feller, Hubbell, Jenkins, Niekro, Perry, Ryan, Seaver, and Sutton ("324 Wins 3574 K's" inscription). The condition of the cards is Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt overall, with a couple lower. Total: 12 cards. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
