Description

The 1984 Donruss Champions set features Dick Perez artwork of ten "Grand Champions" alongside modern stars pursuing their records. This 60-card series holds a unique place amongst its 1980s Donruss contemporaries. Presented is a collection of 57 "Grand Champion" #31 Cy Young cards, each signed by a different winner of the Cy Young Award. The 57 cards have been single-signed by the following players: Bedrosian, Blue, Carlton, Carpenter (CY 05), Chance, Clemens, Cone, Cuellar, Davis, Denny, Drabek, Drysdale, Eckersley, Fingers, Flanagan, Ford, Gibson, Glavine, Gooden, Gossage, Guidry, Halladay, Hernandez, Hershiser, Hoyt, Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Jenkins, R. Johnson, R. Jones, Koufax, Law (1960), Lonborg, Lyle, Maddux, Martinez, McCormick, McDowell ('93 AL Cy Young), McLain (1968-1969), Newcombe, Palmer, G. Perry, J. Perry, Porcello, Saberhagen, Scott (86 NL CY), Seaver, Smoltz, Spahn, Stone, Sutter, Turley, Viola, Vuckovich, Welch, Wilhelm, and Wynn. Also includes two signed Donruss Action-All star cards (1983 Guidry and 1984 Valenzuela). The condition of the cards ranges from Vg-Ex to Nr/Mt-Mt (averaging Ex/Ex-Mt), with a few lower.
