Description

Rarely seen factory set of 1974 Topps baseball. This historic issue marked the first time Topps offered complete factory sets, available exclusively through JCPenney's department store catalog. Additionally, these factory sets also included the first Topps Traded cards, a special subset created to update players who had been dealt to new teams after the main set was finalized. The experiment was discontinued after this release, not reappearing until 1985, making 1974 factory sets significantly rarer than their 1980s and beyond counterparts. This boxed set, containing over 700 cards, is highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Dave Winfield and Dave Parker, along with key cards of Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, and Tom Seaver. Three end flaps of the outer box are detached but included. In our opinion, despite the box being opened, the expected curl pattern of the cards inside appears to be fully intact.
