Description

Presented is a rarely offered near-complete set (numbered 301-348) of R130 "Series of 48 - Western" issued in 1933, consisting of thirty-eight different cards (out of forty-eight in the set). This anonymous strip-card series illustrates a western-themed scene. The front of the cards have color artwork sketches and a caption below the image. A brief description of the respective subject or event is printed on the back of the card. Most of the cards have been detached cleanly at the perforations, but approximately half have been hand cut inside the perforations. The condition is 8% Vg-Ex to Ex, 71% Gd to Vg, and 21% Pr to Fr. Missing the following ten cards for completion: #301, 302, 309, 316, 320, 322, 325, 330, 340, and 345. A very presentable medium- to lower-grade near-complete set of this classic 1930s nonsport issue. Total: 38 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
