Extremely desirable ticket stub issued for Game 1 of the 1954 World Series between the New York Giants and Cleveland Indians, held at the Polo Grounds in New York. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Only one example graded higher. Game 1 of the 1954 World Series will always be remembered for "The Catch," Willie Mays' spectacular snag off the bat of Vic Wertz in the eighth inning. That catch preserved a 2-2 tie, and the Giants won the game in the 10th inning on a three-run home run by Dusty Rhodes. The victory propelled the Giants to an unlikely sweep of the heavily favored Indians, who had won a then-record 111 games during the regular season. The ticket stub (4-1/8 x 2-1/4 inches) has light toning on the reverse.
