Presented is very attractive collection of five uncut three-card strips from the R315 "Portraits and Action" series. The R315 set has been referred to as the "Portraits and Action" series ever since Jefferson Burdick named it in the 1930s in his first American Card Catalog. It is unknown exactly how they were issued or whether this is a formal name provided by the issuer. The 15 players depicted on the five 3-1/4 x 15-3/4 inches strips are highlighted by Hall of Famer Burleigh Grimes. This collection consists of the following: Bengough/Miller/Herman (Gd due to horizontal crease), Fitzsimmons/Koenig/Zachary (Vg+), Grimes (HOF)/Shawkey/Leach (Ex+), O'Farrell/Marberry/Fredericks (O'Farrell card centered 80/20 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), and Pipgras/Reese/Bishop (Gd cue to horizontal crease). A very attractive grouping of 1928 R315s in ideal uncut-strip form. Total: 5 uncut panels.
