Description

Boston Red Sox road jersey worn by pitcher Mike Torrez in 1978. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in red on blue tackle twill. Both a "McAuliffe" label and a "50" size tag appear in the collar. A "1978" year tag and laundry tag are located on the exterior center front tail. Torrez has signed the jersey in black marker on the front. He has added the inscription "Oct 2, 1978/Bucky Was Lucky" above his signature. The jersey, which appears to be original and unaltered, displays moderate use. Torrez enjoyed another solid year in 1978, finishing with 16 wins and a 3.96 ERA. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
