Description

Taylor Boys League baseball signed by Lou Gehrig on a side panel. Gehrig's signature has been scripted in black fountain pen alongside a personalization penned in his hand, which reads "To Ray Jr./Kindest Regards." Gehrig, like most other Yankees players in the 1920s and early 1930s, normally signed his name on a side panel when autographing a ball (the sweet spot was reserved for Babe Ruth). Gehrig single-signed balls, in any form, are exceedingly rare and far scarcer than Ruth singles. The offered ball presents in Very Good condition overall, with light soiling throughout and scattered abrasions. This is an exceptionally attractive Gehrig single-signed baseball that would be a highlight in an advanced Hall of Fame or New York Yankees autographed baseball collection. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
