Description

Presented is an exceptional mid- to high-grade near-complete set of 1969-1970 Topps basketball, highlighted by numerous stars and key rookie cards, including Hall of Famers John Havlicek and Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). This set represents Topps' first large-scale basketball effort in over a decade (since its first issue in 1957) and is extremely popular with collectors due to its size, design, and star selection. Missing only #1 Wilt Chamberlain for completion. Condition is 15% Nr/Mt (including a couple Nr/Mt-Mt), 65% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 20% Vg to Vg-Ex (including one slightly lesser). Keys: #2 Goodrich RC (25/75 L/R and B/T, otherwise Ex-Mt), 10 Thurmond RC (Ex-Mt), 15 Hawkins RC (Vg-Ex), 20 Havlicek RC (Ex+), 25 Alcindor RC (Vg+), 35 Baylor (Ex+), 40 Cunningham RC (Vg-Ex), 43 Bradley RC (Vg-Ex), 44 Wilkens (Nr/Mt-Mt), 45 Lucas RC (Ex-Mt), 50 Robertson (Ex-Mt), 55 Bing RC (Ex), 56 Unseld RC (Nr/Mt due to centering), 60 Reed RC (20/80 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt+), 75 Hayes RC (Ex-Mt), 80 Monroe RC (Ex-Mt), 85 DeBusschere RC (Ex+), 90 West (Ex), 98 Frazier RC (Ex), and 99 Checklist (Vg). This is a very attractive, crisp, and clean near-complete set (minus one) of this significant and popular early Topps basketball issue. Total: 98 cards.
