Presented is a very appealing 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable baseball card, having recently claimed the title at $12.6 million in MINT+ condition. The offered example, graded GOOD 2 by Beckett, has characteristics one would expect to see in a slightly higher grade. It has bold colors, a crisp image, and light wear at the corners (weaker bottom right). Light moisture stain on the upper-left quadrant and a tiny chip of paper loss on Mantle's neck has resulted in the modest grade of Good. The 1952 Topps Mantle has long been recognized as one of the most iconic "blue chips" of all vintage baseball cards and a glance at sales records shows that over the years it has consistently risen in value in all grades. This 1952 Topps Mantle presents a particularly significant collecting and investing opportunity as it is a very attractive example in a particularly desirable grade.
