Offered is a third base used in the game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox on September 16, 2008, at Yankee Stadium, signed by Derek Jeter. Jeter has signed the base below the MLB logo in black marker. Below his signature, Jeter has added the inscriptions "1270 Hits," "9-16-'08," and "Passing Gehrig." Jeter's first-inning single that day propelled him past Lou Gehrig for the most career hits at Yankee Stadium. An MLB hologram label (#LH145688) is affixed to the underside of the base. Someone has also noted the date and what base this is in black ink on the underside of the base. The base (15 x 15 x 2 inches) displays wear and soiling consistent with one-game use. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
