Offered is the actual original Flexichrome artwork used to produce card #56 Edgar Laprade of the New York Rangers from the 1954-1955 Topps Hockey set. All 1950s Topps Hockey card artworks are rare and significant, but examples from the 1954-1955 set are of special note as this was the very first hockey set ever issued by Topps. This original Flexichrome artwork measures 3-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches. The artwork has several production-related glue stains on the front, otherwise is in overall Excellent condition. The reverse bears standard production-related remnants along with a white sticker reading "56 Laprade" and a few pencil notations. This is a rarely offered original 1954-1955 Topps hockey card artwork. (Amazingly, we have two different examples in this current auction.)
