Presented is a complete 10-card set of the circa 1890 Gail & Ax Little Joker series, plus advertising trade card, each professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC. This exceptionally colorful large-card (3-1/8 x 5-3/4 inches) set was issued to promote the Little Joker tobacco brand. Each card features an extremely colorful and detailed lithographic scene relating to a fictional character named Baron Muchausen and the Gail & Ax Little Joker mascot character, with a package of Little Joker Smoking Tobacco superimposed in the foreground of the illustration. The back of each card features a poem related to the scene pictured on the front.
