Complete set of twenty-five 1890 N129 Duke "Stars of the Stage" (First Series) cards. Includes one example with an N131 "Stars of the Stage" (Third Series) error back in Very Good condition. A very attractive complete set of these rare, colorful, and very striking nineteenth-century tobacco cards, grading 20% Vg-Ex, 64% Gd to Vg, and 16% lesser. Duke Tobacco cards in general are far rarer than cards issued by many other tobacco companies such as Allen & Ginter. Issued with Duke's Honest Long Cut brand tobacco, each card features a colorful, graphically detailed lithographic image of an unnamed "beauty" dressed in fancy Victorian attire. Duke's "Stars of the Stage" (First Series) is rarely offered as a complete set. Total: 25 cards.
