Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA with just two higher. Rarely offered example of an M101-2 Sporting News supplement featuring legendary Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner. This sepia-toned premium set was issued with the Sporting News between the years 1909 and 1913. Each premium was issued on only a single day (September 23, 1909 in this case) and is dated in the upper right or left. Their method of issue and the thin paper stock on which they are printed make these unusual and striking premiums particularly susceptible to damage, but the offered example possesses exceptional eye appeal despite the assigned grade, with strong corners and intact edges. This example has a flawless image of Wagner in a batting stance, scattered creasing (more prominent on the reverse), and a small tear on the bottom edge. This is a very attractive example that represents a relatively affordable opportunity to acquire a card-related Wagner supplement dating from his playing days. Dimensions: approximately 7-3/8 x 9-7/8 inches.
