Presented is an extremely attractive high-grade partial set of 1971 Topps Super consisting of thirty-nine different cards (out of sixty-three in the set). This set is highlighted by many Hall of Famers and stars including Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, and Reggie Jackson. Condition is 57% Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint), 30% Nr/Mt, and 13% slightly lesser. Keys: #20 Rose (Nr/Mt-Mt), 32 Bench (Ex-Mt), 38 Jackson (Nr/Mt), 44 Aaron (Ex), 48 Gibson (Ex-Mt), 49 Yastrzemski (Mint), 56 Mays (Ex-Mt due to centering), and 59 B. Robinson (Mint). Missing the following twenty-four cards for completion: #2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 26, 30, 36, 37 Clemente, 39, 40, 43, 45, 47, 52, 53, 55, 57, 58, 62, and 63. Because of their high-quality production values and scarcity relative to other Topps sets of the era, it is a little surprising that this issue has not received more attention from collectors, but this is primarily because for many years grading companies did not have holders for this large-format issue. This is no longer the case, and collectors can now build sets of these cards in graded form just like they've done for many years with standard-sized cards.
