Original news photo of Babe Ruth as a member of the New York Yankees, circa 1930. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photo by PSA/DNA. The photo captures Ruth at the plate in a swing-through pose during an exhibition game at Oriole Park in Baltimore. The notation "Compliments/Leroy Merriken/Evening Sun" is scripted in black ink along the bottom right. Merriken was a longtime photographer for the Baltimore Evening Sun. The photo (8 x 10 inches) is missing a sizable piece along the bottom right and displays multiple tack holes along the bottom border. The central image, however, is unaffected and retains excellent clarity. Technically in Poor condition overall, but with far superior visual appeal.
