Lot # 2474: 1933 Honus Wagner and Floyd Vaughn Original Associated Press Photograph PSA/DNA Type I - Image Used for 1936 R312 National Chicle Card

Original photograph featuring legendary Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner alongside future Hall of Famer Floyd "Arky" Vaughan (in his second year in the majors). Encapsulated and certified by PSA/DNA as an original Type I photograph. Wagner is captured in a teaching moment while demonstrating for the young player. An "Associated Press Photo" credit stamp is on the reverse along with the original paper news caption dated "Apr 18 1933" (representing the Pirates fourth game of the season held at Wrigley Field in Chicago). A number of editorial notations appear on the reverse as well. It is interesting to note that this particular image was used in the production of Wagner's 1936 R312 National Chicle Premium card. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. The photo (5.5 x 7.75 inches) has light creases. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
