Description

Graded VG 3 by SGC. Tremendous mid-grade example of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle's true rookie card. One of card collecting's great classics, Mantle's Bowman rookie card is the key to the 1951 set and one of the most popular and significant of all postwar baseball cards. This example has vibrant colors, even corner wear, strong centering, and a tiny black mark on the back of Mantle's jersey (towards his armpit). A small patch of wax staining is visible along the upper portion of the reverse. A very attractive mid-grade example of this legendary card.
