Vintage photo of Jim Thorpe during his time at Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type III photo by PSA/DNA. Per PSA/DNA, the "photo is a period example that was made from a duplicate negative." Thorpe is captured posing for the camera in his Carlisle uniform. His name is written in pencil on the reverse. During his time at Carlisle, Thorpe competed in several sports, including track and field, baseball, and lacrosse. His greatest success, however, came on the gridiron, where he was a first-team All-American in 1911 and 1912. The photo, which has been trimmed to its current dimensions of 4 x 6 inches, is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
