Description

Stunning composite display photograph featuring twenty-two members of the World Champion 1922 Canton Bulldogs arranged within a football. Each player is identified in print (last name only) at the base of his respective image, including owner Ralph Hay, head coach Guy Chamberlain, and the dog mascot named "Two Bits." The caption along the top reads "World's Champions," while the lettering along the base reads "Canton Ohio." The photographer's credit "Avon Photo" is printed along the base. 1922 would mark the the Bulldogs third season in the NFL, finishing with an undefeated 10-0-2 record. They were the first team to win back-to-back championships in the NFL (1922 and 1923). The display (15 x 9.75 inches), which is printed on thick stock, displays chipping on three of the four corners, a small tear on both the left and right edges, and adhesive residue along the edges of the reverse. In Fair condition overall. This is a scarce and attractive souvenir from the Bulldogs' first World Championship season.
