Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, the Kellogg's cereal company was the only true competition for Topps in the baseball-card market. The 1970 issue, offered here, represents the first time in decades that Kellogg's included baseball cards in cereal boxes, and is well known for its three-dimensional design. These sets have always been of great interest to collectors as they offer affordable alternatives to standard-issue Topps cards of the many Hall of Famers and stars included in each set. An impressive twenty-one Hall of Famers are featured throughout this set, including Johnny Bench, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, and Ernie Banks, as well as the many other stars of the day, including Pete Rose. Condition is 72% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 14% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 14% Vg to Vg-Ex. Keys: #2 Rose (Nr/Mt+), 7 Seaver (Nr/Mt-Mt), 12 Mays (Nr/Mt), 27 Clemente (Nr/Mt), 32 Jackson (Vg-Ex), 40 Banks (Nr/Mt-Mt), 58 Bench (Ex-Mt), and 71b Gibson (Nr/Mt-Mt). Total: 75 cards.
