Description

Presented is a collection of three complete sets of Kellogg's baseball cards spanning the years 1975 to 1978, with a total of 177 cards. Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, the Kellogg's cereal company was the only true competition for Topps in the baseball-card market. These sets include cards of Tom Seaver, George Brett, Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, and Nolan Ryan. All the other stars of the day are also included. Of course, instead of having to buy only a stick of gum to get a stack of cards, you had to buy an entire box of cereal just to get one card! This collection consists of the following: 1) 1975 Kellogg's (57): Condition is 46% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 11% Ex to Ex-Mt, 32% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 11% lesser. Keys: #7 Bench (Nr/Mt), 11 Rose (Vg-Ex), 18 B. Robinson (Nr/Mt-Mt+), 26 Ryan (Nr/Mt-Mt+), 54 Jackson (Vg-Ex), and 56 Schmidt (Ex+). 2) 1977 Kellogg's (57): Condition ranges from Nr/Mt to Mint (averaging Nr/Mt-Mt) overall, with a few lesser. Keys: #6 Brett (Nr/Mt-Mt), 20 Rose (Nr/Mt-Mt), and 28 Winfield (Nr/Mt-Mt). 3) 1978 Kellogg's (57) Plus 6 Duplicates: Condition is 64% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a few Mint), 11% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 25% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a few lesser). Keys: #3 Schmidt (Gd), 6 Brett (Nr/Mt+), 25 Murray (Nr/Mt-Mt), 27 Seaver (Gd+), 40 Jackson (Nr/Mt-Mt), and two 51 Ryan (both Vg). Duplicates (6): #8 Gossage, 10, 11 Winfield, 19, 44, and 51 Ryan. This is a very attractive collection of cards from this classic food issue. Total: 3 sets, 177 cards.
