Lot # 1868: High-Grade 1982 to 1986 Topps Complete Set Collection (5 Sets, 3,960 Cards)

Presented are five crisp, mostly high-grade complete sets of Topps baseball from 1982 through 1986, highlighted by numerous stars and rookie cards, including those of Hall of Famers Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs, Ryne Sandberg, Kirby Puckett, and Cal Ripken. Eleven cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. This collection consists of the following: 1) 1982 Topps Complete Set (792): Condition is 55% Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint), 20% Nr/Mt, and 25% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly due to centering and including a few slightly lesser). Keys: #21 Ripken RC (MINT 9), 90 Ryan (NM-MT 8), 390 Murray (NM-MT 8), 610 Henderson (30/70 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt), and 780 Rose (Nr/Mt-Mt). 2) 1983 Topps Complete Set (792): Condition is 55% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including a few Mint), 40% Ex to Ex-Mt (including some due solely to centering), and 5% lesser (mostly Vg-Ex). Keys: #83 Sandberg RC (Ex-Mt due to centering), 360 Ryan (Nr/Mt-Mt+), 482 Gwynn RC (NM 7), 498 Boggs RC (MINT 9), and 550 Yastrzemski (MINT 9). 3) 1984 Topps Complete Set (792): Condition is 77% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint) and 23% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly due to centering and including a few slightly lesser). Keys: #8 Mattingly RC (NM-MT 8), 182 Strawberry RC (Vg-Ex), 470 Ryan (30/70 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt+), and 490 Ripken (Mint). 4) 1985 Topps Complete Set (792): Condition is 80% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint) and 20% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly due to centering and including a few slightly lesser). Keys: #115 Henderson (MINT 9), 181 Clemens RC (Nr/Mt-Mt due to centering), 401 McGwire RC (MINT 9), 536 Puckett RC (Nr/Mt-Mt), 600 Rose (NM-MT 8), 620 Gooden RC (30/70 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt+), and 660 Gwynn (GEM MINT 10). 5) 1986 Topps Complete Set (792): Condition is 76% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some bordering on Mint) and 24% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a few slightly lesser). Keys: #1 Rose (Ex), 100 Ryan (Nr/Mt), and 386 C. Fielder RC (Nr/Mt-Mt).
