Exceptional near-complete set of seven cards from the scarce 1969 N.Y. Boy Scouts issue, missing only Tommy Agee and Art Shamsky for completion. This set, which was produced by the Boy Scouts as a recruitment tool, rewarded members who encouraged their friends to join the Boy Scouts. The reverse reads "By bringing a new boy into Scouting, you have joined the GO team for 1969. Congratulations!" The facsimile signature of the Council Commissioner is underneath. These cards, which feature hometown New York Mets and Yankees heroes, were regionally issued and are extremely rare. Only sixty-one examples in total have been graded from this set by PSA and SGC combined. According to the Standard Catalog, nine different players in the set are known to date (though others may be discovered). The near-complete set consists of the following: Harrelson (small marks on left border, otherwise Ex+), C. Jones (Vg-Ex+), Murcer (Vg-Ex), Pepitone (Vg), Seaver (Gd due to stain, HOF), Stottlemyre (Vg-Ex), and Swoboda (Vg-Ex). This is an outstanding near-complete set of this rarely-encountered regional issue. Total: 7 cards.
