Description

Complete set of fifty-four 1953 Brown & Bigelow Honus Wagner playing cards. Produced by illustrator William Medcalf for the Brown & Bigelow advertising firm. In addition to playing cards, the artwork was featured on other promotional pieces, including calendars and baseball schedules. Wagner was one of six Hall of Famers- the others being Ty Cobb, Connie Mack, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and John McGraw- who were depicted on the back of their own deck of cards. Accompanied by the original box.
