Lot # 2410: 1980-2001 Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Postcard Complete Set (275) with 32 Signed Cards Including DiMaggio, Musial, and Mays

This complete set of Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards is composed of 275 cards (including the fifteen checklist cards) and features thirty-two signed player cards. Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards, which are one of the classic issues for autograph collectors, were originally issued in fifteen individual series between 1980 and 2001. With the exception of seven cards (featuring Hall of Fame Officials, Perez-Steele Gallery executives, and other non-ballplayers) only Baseball Hall of Fame members are included in the set. Each card was limited to a print run of 10,000, and every card is individually numbered on the reverse. Of the 275 cards in the set, only 104 could possibly have been signed by Hall of Fame players (the balance of the players passed away prior to the date of publication). The offered collection, which consists of cards from the set numbered "09875," includes 32 of those 104 players. All of the cards have been signed on the front in blue Sharpie. The cards are presented in their original boxes and range in condition from Ex to Nr/Mt-Mt (averaging Ex/Mt). Organized by series, the following are the thirty-two signed cards in this collection: Third Series (2 cards): DiMaggio and Feller. Fourth Series (1 card): Musial. Fifth Series (5 cards): Berra, Wynn, Irvin, Spahn, and Ford. Sixth Series (9 cards): Kiner, Roberts, Lopez, Mathews, Mays, Kaline, Snider, Gibson, and Mize. Seventh Series (3 cards): Kell, Marichal, and B. Robinson. Eighth Series (5 cards): Aparicio, Ferrell, Brock, Slaughter, and Wilhelm. Ninth Series (3 cards): Doerr, Hunter, and B. Williams.
