Presented is a near-complete set (69/72) of 1948 Bowman Basketball, missing only #21, 48 Sadowski, and 69 Mikan for completion. The 1948 Bowman Basketball series is particularly significant as this was the first set ever issued devoted exclusively to basketball. This 1948 issue was the only basketball set Bowman ever produced. Condition is 22% Gd to Vg and 78% Pr to Fr (mostly Pr and including eight trimmed, two of which are blue color variations). Keys: #1 Calverley RC (Pr), 9 Phillip RC (Pr), 10 Davies RC (Fr-Gd), 32 Holzman RC (Pr), 34 Fulks RC (Fr-Gd), 38 Jeanette RC (Vg), 43 Halbert RC (Gd), 46 McKinney RC (Pr due to tape), 52 Simmons RC (hand cut, otherwise Vg-Ex), 54 Palmer RC (Pr), 55 Zaslofsky RC (blue color variation, hand cut, otherwise Gd+), 58 Risen RC (Pr), 66 Pollard RC (Pr), and 72 Braun RC (hand cut, otherwise Vg-Ex).
