Description

Complete set of 1969-1970 Topps Basketball Rulers consisting of all 23 rulers (#5 was never issued). This fascinating and unusual set consists of colorful "cards" measuring 2.5 x 10 inches and designed as a ruler used to measure some of the day's best basketball players, including Lew Alcindor and Wilt Chamberlain. The front features an illustration of the player alongside the ruler, with his height marked appropriately and his name and team near the bottom. The backs are blank. Condition is 34% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 52% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 14% Gd to Vg. Keys: #2 West (Vg+), 9 Havlicek (Ex-Mt), 10 Alcindor (Vg-Ex), 11 Chamberlain (Gd-Vg due solely to miscut centering), and 24 Robertson (Ex). This is a very attractive complete set of this unusual and rarely offered Topps basketball insert set. Total: 23 rulers.
