Description

Original photo of notorious Chicago gangster Al Capone, circa 1932. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. Capone is captured playing cards aboard a train with US. Marshal Harry Laubenheimer, who was escorting Capone to federal prison just months after his 1931 conviction on five counts of tax evasion and sentencing to 11 years behind bars. The reverse bears the original paper news caption, an "ACME" credit stamp, editorial notations, and a date stamp ("Dec 29, 1932"). The photo (6 x 8 inches) is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
