Offered is a near-complete set of forty-three different cards from the 1948 Bowman series (out of 48 in the set), the first baseball-card set issued by Bowman Gum. Missing the following five cards for completion: #3 Kiner, 5 Feller, 6 Berra, 18 Spahn, and 36 Musial. Condition is 16% Vg-Ex to Ex, 65% Gd to Vg, and 19% lesser (including one miscut, one that measures small, and one with a possible slight trim). Keys: #1 Elliott RC (Vg+), 2 Blackwell (Vg+), 4 Mize (Vg-Ex), 7 Reiser SP (Ex due mostly to centering), 8 Rizzuto RC (slightly miscut bottom edge, otherwise Fr), 12 Sain RC (Gd), 14 Reynolds RC (Vg-Ex), 17 Slaughter RC (Gd+), 19 Henrich (Gd), 29 Page RC (Vg), 30 Lockman SP (Vg), 38 Schoendienst (Gd+), 40 Marion RC (Vg), 45 Sauer RC (5/95 T/B, otherwise Vg+), and 47 Thomson RC (Gd+). An outstanding opportunity to acquire a near-complete set of this landmark Bowman issue. Total: 43 cards.
