Lot # 2578: 1950s to 1960s Mickey Mantle Pin Collection (11)

Collection of eleven pinbacks dating from the 1950s and 1960s featuring exclusively New York Yankees Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle. These pins, which were often available for purchase at stadiums during this era, are found in a number of different sizes and styles. Offered here are large and small format pins, six of which have attachments connected to the pinback. Oftentimes, colorful ribbons and baseball-themed items, such as bats, balls, or gloves, were added to the pins, and this style is generally encountered less frequently and is more desirable among collectors. This collection consists of the following: One 1.5" diameter pin; eight 1.75" diameter pins (four different), six of which have attachments consisting of ribbons and charms; and two identical 3.5" diameter pins (yellow and blue). Condition is overall Very Good to Excellent, with some light fraying to the attachments or rust on the pinback reverse. This is a very attractive collection of these popular and desirable pins.
