Lot # 3486: Circa 1967 Modesto Reds (Cardinals) Batboy Jersey

Modesto Reds home jersey issued to one of the team's batboys, circa 1967. The white flannel jersey features the team name "Modesto" embroidered on the front, above which is displayed the St. Louis Cardinals' distinctive logo of two cardinals perched upon a bat. The number "27" appears on the left breast and reverse. The jersey is original and displays no other alterations (minor team repair near the second button). Moderate wear is evident, including light scattered stains and minor seam separation along the collar. Despite the lack of a year tag, this Class A minor league club of the California League became an affiliate of the Cardinals organization in 1966 through 1974. Hall of Famer Sparky Anderson was the teams manager in 1967. While not an actual player jersey, this is an outstanding Cardinals style jersey dating from the late 1960s.
