Lot # 2105: 1918 Honus Wagner Signed Check - PSA/DNA

Personal check dated November 4, 1918, and signed by Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the check and certified the signature as "Authentic." The check, made out to Carnegie Union in the amount of $1.75, is drawn on the Carnegie Trust Company and is signed “John H. Wagner” along the base in black fountain pen. Both a signature and stamped endorsement appear on the reverse. Autograph collectors have always placed a special premium on checks due to their inherent authenticity. The offered Wagner check is an extremely early example and dates just one year after his retirement from baseball. The check (8.5 x 3 inches) displays a vertical fold, a number of moderate creases, and light toning. In Good condition overall.
