Presented is an extremely substantial collection of 871 Dixie Lids spanning the years 1930 to 1954 and representing more than thirty complete or near-complete sets of Dixie Lids issued during this period. The sets are composed mostly of movie stars of the era, including multiple examples each of Elizabeth Taylor, John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Bob Hope, and Judy Garland, but a small selection of sports, animal, and military lids are also included. Numerous advertising backs are found within this collection. The tab is missing on 161 of the lids in this collection and creased (as issued) on most of the balance. Without further reference to the tabs, the condition is 9% Nr/Mt or better, 38% Ex to Ex-Mt, 27% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 26% lesser. This collection consists of the following:

This is a very substantial collection of the "unsung heroes" of regional food issues assembled over a period of many years by an extremely dedicated Dixie Lids collector. These Dixie Lid sets have received very little attention from collectors in recent years, and relative to their rarity represent one of the best values of all 1930s to 1950s issues. This is an outstanding and unusually substantial collection of these very scarce and overlooked food-issue cards. Total: 871 lids.
