Attractive uncut sheet from the classic 1928 W513 strip-card issue highlighted by six baseball Hall of Famers. The uncut sheet of twenty-five cards features eleven baseball players (#66-70, 76-80, and 86) in the three middle rows, including Hall of Famers Combs, Haines, Lazzeri, Pennock, Terry, and P. Waner. The balance of the sheet features cards of famous pilots, eight boxers, and one tennis star. These colorful cards are referred to as "strip cards" because they were originally issued in uncut sheets or "strips" and were cut apart, as intended, with scissors. In the early days of the organized hobby, strip cards did not "get any respect." It is only in recent years that collectors have begun to appreciate the distinctive look and tremendous value these cards represent. A continuation of the W512 series, this uncut sheet of twenty-five cards are included in a larger 90-card multi-subject series (numbered starting at #11). The sheet (7 x 11-1/8 inches) has a 1-1/2 inch tear on the top edge, three clipped corners, and light toning along the edges. In Fair condition overall. This is a very desirable W513 "strip-card" sheet in its original uncut form, featuring six baseball Hall of Famers.
