Description

"Wild Man" is one of the most interesting nonsport issues of the era. The set portrays man's violent past with magnificent color artwork and graphic text. This is a set with a message. As stated on each card, "MAN'S PAST is stained with BLOOD. His FUTURE can be bright with promise - If in the present he will wage PEACE." The timing of this set, issued just five years after the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, allows for a greater understanding of this message, and its warnings for the future. Twelve cards are graded and encapsulated by PSA: #10 Marco Polo in the East (EX 5), 13 Building the Pyramids (EX-MT 6), 14 Falconry (EX 5), 17 Stretcher Bearers (EX 5), 23 Jungle Bombing (EX-MT 6), 25 Amazon Frontier (EX-MT 6), 42 Private War (EX-MT 6), 56 Dive Bomber (EX-MT 6), 57 Flame Thrower (EX-MT 6), 58 Land Mine (EX-MT 6), 59 Guerrilla War (EX-MT 6), and 69 Cornered (NM 7). The condition of the sixty-card balance is 16% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 65% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 19% Gd to Vg (including two trimmed and one lesser). This is a very attractive complete set of one of the era's most significant nonsport-card issues. Total: 72 cards.
