Complete set of twenty-four ice cream lids from the Dixie Cup Nelsons Ice Cream "Movie, Cowboy and TV Stars" set issued in 1952. Prominent stars of film and TV are featured in this set, including John Wayne, Bing Crosby, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Hope, Clark Gable, and Gene Kelly. Condition ranges from Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt overall. Ice cream lids can be extremely difficult to collect in high-grade due to their method of issue, but this set has survived in tremendously high grade and would make an outstanding addition to any nonsport collection. Decades ago a find of perfect Dixie Lid tops surfaced (obviously direct from the company and never distributed as intended), and the lids from this high-quality set are likely from that legendary find.
