Lot # 618: 1921 W551 Ty Cobb PSA EX-MT 6

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Extremely attractive mid-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the W551 strip-card series. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregularly cut borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Only ideally cut examples (which are few and far between) are awarded numerical grades by PSA (and SGC). The offered example is neatly cut, with light corner wear, and a crisp image of Cobb set against a blue background. The blank back has a few light discolorations. This is a very desirable mid-grade example of one of Ty Cobb's most classic 1920s strip cards and one that would be an outstanding addition to any Ty Cobb, strip-card, or prewar-card collection.
