Description

Circa 1962 Mickey Mantle public-service broadside issued by the Traffic Department-Safety Education Program. This is an outstanding and extremely rare Mickey Mantle display item. Obviously aimed at school-age youngsters, this colorful broadside enlists the aid of the Yankees slugger to help get the word out about traffic safety. Mantle, who is pictured in full uniform, warns kids to “Play It Safe – Cross at Corners – Not Mid Block.” The broadside (17 x 20 inches) has brilliant colors and is ideal for display (as intended!). This is a beautiful, striking, and very wholesome display piece featuring Mickey Mantle. It is also extremely rare. This item has a few light creases and six pieces of white tape along the edges of the reverse, as well as a black strip of tape residue extending down the center (all from being removed from a frame). In Very Good condition overall. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
