Description

Exceedingly rare Roger Maris Gold Mine ice-cream booster tab dating from the early 1960s. Roger Maris was recruited by Gold Mine as a company spokesperson following his record-breaking 1961 season. While we have seen a number of Roger Maris Gold Mine ice-cream advertisements, this is just the second booster tab we have offered. The metal tab, which was meant to be worn on a label or pocket, features a portrait image of Maris, with the text reading "Honorary/Roger Maris/Gold Mine Booster." Illustrations of two different Gold Mine ice cream pops flank Maris' image. The tab (1.25 x 2.25 inches) displays modest handling wear, including a few tiny abrasions and light scratches on the reverse, and is in Excellent condition overall.
