Description

The 1984 Donruss Champions set features Dick Perez artwork of 10 "Grand Champions" alongside modern stars pursuing their records. This 60-card series holds a unique place amongst its 1980s Donruss contemporaries. Presented is a collection of 18 "Grand Champion" #1 Babe Ruth cards, each signed by a different member of the 500 home run club. The 18 cards have been single-signed by the following players: Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Jr., Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew, Eddie Mathews, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Eddie Murray, Rafael Palmeiro, Manny Ramirez, Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt, Sammy Sosa, Frank Thomas, and Ted Williams ("521" inscription). The condition of the cards ranges from Ex to Nr/Mt (averaging Ex-Mt), with a couple slightly higher and lower. Three cards (Ramirez, Sosa, and Thomas) show authentication stickers on the backs.
