Extremely attractive complete set of all five R83A Gum, Inc., "Lone Ranger" premiums along with a rare store advertising promo sheet. Regarded by collectors as among the most visually appealing of all 1930s premiums, the R83A series is comprised of five 8 by 10-inch premiums depicting scenes from The Lone Ranger film in brilliant color and detail. The reverse features a description of the scene, a checklist of the titles included in the series and instructions on how to obtain and display the premiums. These premiums are also particularly rare, which is no doubt related to how they were distributed. A complete set could be obtained for 25 wrappers and 10 cents. "Lone Ranger" premiums are often encountered in modest grade due to their size. Condition Report: #1 Tonto Saves the Lone Ranger (Vg), 2 The Lone Ranger Licks Kester (Vg+), 3 The Lone Ranger Rescues Joan at the Pit (1/8-inch tear of right edge, otherwise Vg), 4 Tonto Fights Off the Troopers (Vg), and 5 The Lone Ranger Foils a Murderer (Vg). The colors on all five premiums remain vibrant. The accompanying advertising sheet also grades Very Good.
