On May 26, 2006, Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter recorded his 2,000th career hit in a New York Yankees' 7-6 loss to the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium. Offered is a game-used baseball from that contest. Jeter has signed the Official Major League baseball (Selig) "Derek Jeter/2,000th Hit/5-26-'06" in blue ink along the sweet spot. The ball itself is lightly soiled and consistent with that of a game-used ball. The ball is affixed with MLB and Steiner certification stickers. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
