Derek Jeter Louisville Slugger signature-model ("P72") bat dating from the 2004 season. Graded GU 10 by PSA/DNA. Jeter has also signed the bat in silver paint pen on the sweet spot of the barrel. The bat, which is not cracked, displays evidence of outstanding use along its entire length, including numerous ball marks and stitch impressions on all sides of the barrel (ball marks include blue-ink transfers and white-leather scuffs), a weighted batting doughnut mark, and a moderate-to-heavy coat of Mota Stick on the handle. Jeter is the greatest shortstop in New York Yankees history and one of the few players to be honored with the title of "Captain." During Jeter's celebrated 20 seasons in New York, the Yankees won seven pennants and five World Championships. Like Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and Mantle before him, Jeter personifies the most recent Yankees dynasty and is one of the most revered players in team history. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2020. Length: 34 inches. Weight: 30.3 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (corresponding hologram label affixed to the knob end). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the signature). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the signature).
