Scarce ticket stub issued for Game 4 of the 1911 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants, held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia on October 24th. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This is just the third 1911 Game 4 World Series ticket stub we have offered in the past 22 years. Game 4 of the 1911 World Series featured a pitching rematch between Game 1 starters Christy Mathewson and Chief Bender. While Mathewson got the best of Bender and the A's in the first game, Bender evened the score with a 4-2 win in Game 4, which gave Philadelphia a commanding 3-1 lead in the Series. The A's eventually won the Series in 6 games to claim their second consecutive World Championship. The ticket stub (1.5 x 3.25 inches) displays a few scattered creases, a tiny corner chip in the upper left, and light toning front and back.
