Description

Extremely scarce Cuban baseball rulebook published in 1952 for the Pedro Betancourt Amateur League. Printed in Spanish, this 26-page soft-cover booklet is titled Liga De Base-Ball Amateur / De / Pedro Betancourt / Reglamento / 1952 in black lettering on the cover. Six of the interior pages are signed by league officials. The booklet (8.5 x 13 inches), which is bounded with string, displays a number of obvious flaws to the fragile paper, including several edge tears and chipping. Despite its flaws, the book is intact as issued and remains a historically important relic relating to the early days of Cuban baseball. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
