Lot # 647: 1921 W551 Ty Cobb PSA MINT 9 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Extremely attractive ultra high-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb from the W551 strip-card series. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregularly cut borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Only ideally cut examples (which are few and far between) are awarded numerical grades by PSA (and SGC). The offered example is neatly cut, with strong corners, and a crisp image of Cobb set against a blue background. The blank back is entirely clean. This is a very desirable ultra high-grade example of one of Ty Cobb's most classic 1920s strip cards and one that would be an outstanding addition to any Ty Cobb, strip-card, or prewar-card collection.
