Original news photo featuring Tommy Henrich and Jackie Robinson before Game 5 of the 1949 World Series. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The players are pictured with MLB commissioner Happy Chandler and five-year-old Polio survivor Kathleen Dugan, as Chandler purchases the first ticket to the Robinson-Joe DiMaggio charity dinner, held December 12th at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. The reverse features the original "International News Photos" paper news caption and an "Oct 12 1949" date stamp. The photo (7-1/8 x 9 inches) displays scattered creasing and is in Good condition overall.
