Lot # 508: 1910 PC805 Novelty Cutlery Postcards Ty Cobb SGC VG/EX 50

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Magnificent example of one of Ty Cobb's most stunning cards, from the very rare and highly regarded PC805 Novelty Cutlery postcard set, issued in 1910. This has always been one of our favorite Ty Cobb cards. It is interesting to note that the image of Cobb used on this card is the same image used on the PC796 sepia postcard series. This is an extremely significant Ty Cobb rarity. In fact, this is only the fifth example of this card that we have offered in the past 22 years! The front is beautiful, with a striking image of Cobb and even wear to the corners. Bright and crisp, both front and back. The card has never been mailed and has no writing on its traditional postcard reverse. This is an extraordinary example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this beautiful and rare set and one that would make an outstanding addition to a PC805 set, Hall of Fame type-card collection, or Ty Cobb player collection.
